yup...the ever mysterious shirley hemple got it right. they found out that at one point, a horse isn't touching the ground at all. (you can see this in the second or third picture)

and no...im not.

Basically that horses did not run like dogs... with all four legs splayed out at once, unless they are bringing tall legs in, they have to have at least one on the ground. Knowing that, it makes the painting with horses having legs splayed out look positively weird...

i'm not art history fan, we just covered this awhile ago.:)
