Chorus Line. What an experience. Friday was great! I wasn't terrible nervous, which is a good thing! The second night we sang a lot better, but made a few mistakes. Sunday was, wow! Everyone warned me about matinees and how the audience is pretty much dead, but wow! It was like giving a play to a brick wall for the first hour! After that they lightened up a little, and monday was a relief just to get it over with!
Everyone really liked the show! I got compliments all over, and it was a pretty entertaining show. I am definitely glad it is over with though! I can have my own life back again!
Anyways, Regina gave me some flowers after the last show!!!! They are so pretty! Red Roses. I put them inside a SoBe bottle. Talk about College life, huh?
I also registered for my classes, and I got all of the ones I wanted. I am going to take that playwriting class and take my LCT class second semester.
Got to go!

Springtime and a Light Snow
The plants are starting to grow! When it snowed a tiny bit this morning, I grabbed my camera because I thought it would look cool having life emerging from the ice. Up above is one of the pictures, the others are below, showing the snowflakes in the sunlight and more plants. The snow melted about an hour later.

Plans
Just wanted everyone to know that I have made plans for spring break! My friend Danielle is taking me to her house in Potosi, Wisconsin. I had met her parents last weekend when I went to go see her and my other friends' chorus recital. They were both really cool, and her dad is a lot of fun. The recital was amazing too! It was in the St. Catherine church, and oh boy was it amazing. Think a Byzantine church with gold tiling and an arched front. Add music in other languages, like french and latin, and it was completely heaven. It was like angels singing!

Update

The goal of this week is to focus on Chorus Line, and finish all of my school projects. It is also, by pure coincidence, an absolutely brilliant day outside. It is now spring. You were right mom, you can smell it! The grass is coming to life, the birds are singing, and I went outside with shorts and no sweater. We (Emyli, Danielle, and I) played frisbee and went for a walk in the forest!
Yesterday, Rachel was in the green room crying, pretty much hysterically. Someone was tending to her, so I went out to the stage for practice. Apparently she hurt her knee really bad and the Director (Judy) is replacing her. My friend Joanna is taking her place, and trying to learn what we did in two months time, in one week.
I was walking to get a drink, and there is Rachel, and I give her a hug and ask if she is alright. She says that she is fine because she took pain pills so she won't feel the pain anymore, and is going to be in the show anyways. I told her her health was more important, but she didn't believe me. Judy almost called security on her because she wouldn't leave, and her mom had to take her to some mental health place for the weekend. Pretty scary, huh?
I think the show will go well though. My double Pirouette is coming fine, and after some complications with the dance shoes, they are coming this thursday hopefully!

Manic Monday
The weather today was amazing! It hit 69 Degrees! Wheeeew! It definitely made my monday. I woke up and was cursing the monday gods (they do exist!), and by noon I was practically skipping. It seriously felt like spring. The birds were singing!!!!
Besides that, I had a pretty routine Monday. Went to class, ran out of art class as fast as possible, and had lunch with my friends. Tomorrow I am going on a field trip to this Marine Art Museum. It should be fun. We are going for artscore class, and all we have to do is take notes on what we like and don't like.
Since this post is so short, I am going to conduct the use of an interesting sight I found: Plinky. (www.plinky.com/)
it helps you talk about topics so that your blog will (or in my case, it might help, because really, mine is so awesome! ;) be better. My screen name for it is Thunderlight, and I've posted some other stuff on there. Here's a few examples:
If you were named based on your traits, habits, or likes, what would your name be?
You can call me... Dreamer
I would have to say that my name would be Dreamer or Space Case. Seriously, there's never a time when I am not thinking of something in my head that doesn't exist. I day dream all the time, and in theatre rehearsal, I always have to ask others where I am supposed to be!
Animal face-off! Who would win in a fight between a bear and a shark?
My money's on the shark
It would depend upon the location. If a bear were in the water, it wouldn't have a chance. If it were on land then it might, but if it were half and half, the shark had better get the first hit (or bite :D)

Hectic Weekend
A. Showcase
B. Watchmen
C. RA group Interview
Hello everyone!
I'm sitting here in the racquetball courts, writing this and listening to music. Why, do you ask? Well, I am trying to find my own secret hang out place. I am almost 90% positive this place is perfect, because not too many people play racquet ball anymore. The only downside is the bathroom is far away O.O
So here is a tale of my weekend, a sum up of the Ballroom Dancing Showcase, Going to see Watchmen afterwards, and my RA interview.
A. Showcase
It's Saturday, and we meet up at noon in the dance studio. The show doesn't start till 6 pm. We go over the finale number (which is mind numbingly weird but it was fun anyways), and practice stuff over one final time. Then the girls start getting ready for the show, like doing stuff to their hair, and putting makeup on. Gia let me put hers on and I have to say it was kind of fun. Then this one girl pulled out this glitter stuff for your hair and skin. It was fun spraying them all and then seeing them reflect like a pool of water in the moonlight.
Then we went to the Figliulo Recital Hall for the show. We completely sold out, and even had people sitting on the stairs! It was really cool though, because all my friends were in the crowd. Andrea's dance partner came. We all thought it was going to be her husband, but it wasn't. It was this really pretty and really nice guy named Christopher. He was pretty, and so obviously not straight. *sigh* It made me realize how I've been so successful at everything here, except for love.
On a better note, Everyone was super excited! My dance went really well, even though I was shaking from the adrenaline rush! It was really cool when we walked out because all of my friends and probably all of Annie's friends cheered when we appeared. Then we did these social dancers, where we showed off the other stuff we had learned, like the chacha, the rumba, etc
B. Watchmen
Right after the show, Danielle, Emyli, and others dragged me to go watch the brand new Watchmen movie. Wow! I was both amazed and shocked at the same time! First of all, not once did I guess any part of the plot, which in my eyes says that the plot, and the directing, were really well done. It really made me want to read the book! The thing that I was shocked by was the fact that they got away with calling it an 'R' rated movie. It should have been X! You saw every part of both gender's bodies, and then you saw this really intense sex scene. If you put it all together, it could have been porn. O yea and it is super bloody. If you take those parts with a grain of salt though, it was great!
C. RA group Interview
Then on Sunday we had the RA group interview. Since all the theatre people had rehearsal, they gave us our own time (after everyone else). They brought us in, and sat us down. They gave us a folder full of "Evidence" like written checks, plane tickets, a set of car keys and payment, some girl's report with a grade, etc. We had 10 mins to come up with what we thought would happen. We eventually came to the conclusion that this wife was cheating on her husband, and he was paying a detective to find evidence. The person she was cheating with was paying her car bills and restaurant bills, etc, and the babysitter for the family's kids discovered the affair.
After that they gave us this huge sheet of poster paper, and we had to come up with a new residence hall for students, and had to draw up a plan, then describe it, along with who it was for, its name, and where it should go on campus. That was some fun.
Then they told us we had to try and build a really tall building using gumdrop buttons, dry spaghetti, toothpicks, and marshmallows. We had to use all four types of material, and it had to stand for at least five seconds when done. The catch was that one person was blindfolded, one couldn't talk, and two others had to use their non dominant hands. AND everyone had to help build. THANK GOD I didn't have any of these maladies! We didn't build the tallest building, but I'm pretty sure it was the sturdiest!
After all that, which was a ton of fun, yesterday we got the mail telling us if we got the positions or not. I DID! I was so happy! It really made me feel that I can accomplish whatever the hell I want to accomplish. On the other hand, Robby and Regina did not make it. I was shocked. I thought Robby would be a really good RA, and Regina would be such a better RA than I could ever hope to be! But thats what happened. I talked to all the people in my "group", and almost all of them became RA's, so I guess we all did really well together.
That's about it for now!
Love,
Neil

Two major things: I had my RA personal interview yesterday night, and I had my Oral Interpretation of Horton Hears a Who this morning.
Both went awesomely well, since, I think, because I practiced really hard for both. I knew a lot of the people interviewing me, so that made it better. They were more friendly this way, and my combined approach of memorizing things and going with the flow made it really good.
I was first in my oral interpretation, and I think that was a good thing. Everyone liked the use of my different accents, and the fact that I walked around the room, or owned my space was good too (I don't do it on purpose, its just I walk back and forth when nervous).
Saturday is Showcase for the Ballroom Dance Club. I am really excited about this! I made the posters that are now everywhere around campus, and Annie and my dance is coming along so well! I will have a video for everyone, so when I come back maybe you guys can see it.
I also have the group interviews this sunday, and I am still swimming whenever I can with John and Coach

Musical
FINALLY!!! auugghhhh!
Ok so well I've been getting a lot of crap because I do not know how to read music. It isn't my fault really, and I blame my old piano teacher because she gave me such an easy opportunity to cheat and write the letters in pencil. Well, let me tell you singing off of music is helluva lot harder than just making tiny pings on a piano.
And so, yesterday when I tried to sing my part (which had back and forth singing with dialogue, which is way hard,) the Director Judy stopped the whole rehearsal and told me that they couldn't go on without me getting it. She then told Jan that I would probably have to do that everyday until the opening night of the show. Yay, an insult!
Jan whispered to me that it wasn't my fault, it's just that this piece was really hard. I have to both agree and disagree with her. My part is hard, but also I've never done this before. I really like Jan though, because shes always unappreciated around here and Judy sometimes yells at Jan when she doesn't deserve it.
So after I practiced for a bit with her, I went in front of everyone and got it! It surprised me even! It's so weird to me because I havent been doing it my whole life like swimming. The whole time I just wanted to sink and disappear in a vat of water. Seriously!
But Now I have the right friends in theatre, after many botched attempts beforehand. Whew. I really feel like I have a permanent foothold here, and it's not going away. The fact that Judy was insulting me, and then had a look of surprise on her face when I got it, means that maybe she will recast me again next year.
Tomorrow I have my oral interp of Horton Hears a Who. I am totally ready. I just have to figure out which pages I am going to read. It is awesome though, because I gave Horton a slow, low voice, the kangaroos Australian Voices, and the eagle some sort of Russian voice. I also have my interview for the RA job. talk about busy!
AND! AND! AND! we started doing portraits in art class!! ahhhh! I'm so excited because I was waiting for this day to come! yahooooo! I love drawing people's faces! Here is the one we did today! We had to choose between a couple sculptures that she had set out, and I chose this one (am trying to get the picture up now). It is supposed to be a 3/4ths view. And I know his forehead looks pretty big, but that's how the sculpture was.
