Pride of both kinds

Just to keep a slight update of the highlights of my summer, the two coolest things that have happened to me were 1) going to San Diego Gay Pride, and 2) the Imperial Beach U.S. Open Sandcastle Competition.

Gay Pride
The month of july is gay pride month. And that means, in the middle of july is the Gay Pride Parade! I went with my friends Jon, Christian, Matt, and Alex. The parade was super long but also just as fun! There were so many types of floats and people/bands/cars going past it was unbelievable. So much fun! My favorite float was probably the wizard of Oz float. I don't know what it was for, but they had music playing, and four dancers up there, each representing Dorothy, the Tin man, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion. The Tin man was excellent eye candy, he had the perfect body and was covered it silver spray paint. The scarecrow had straw attached and poking out of all his clothing (which was minimal, so most of it was hanging jewelry-like. The cowardly lion was my favorite! he was just so cute! he had a tail attached to his speedo and those little halloween ears. He was by far my favorite. I joked he was my future boyfriend. I dont even remember what dorothy looked like! lol

IB Sandcastle Competition
The sandcastle competition was also great! we got the final team together last minute, and after digging a giant pile for 45 minutes, we were about to give up. It was so much work! And then halfway through, when we had a pile as tall as Elyse (the team was Holly, her friend Tory, Elyse, Morgan, Ariell, and I) the general shape looked like a turtle. All the (annoying) spectators thought so. Ariell tried to make us all switch to making it a turtle, but we had already named it King Henry the Hermit on the sign in sheet!

So all in all, we were digging and building and watering for 5 hours, and ended up getting third place in the category (Sea Animals). We got a huge ass trophy and $200 in prize money! Hows that for never making a sandcastle before?!?!?! WAHOOOO! ::D:D:D:D:D:D
